Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership TTIP - Statement of the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) (PDF, 93 kB)

The European Commission submitted a draft mandate on 12 March 2013 for starting negotiations for a comprehensive Free Trade Agreement with the US, (“Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership”, TTIP). The governments of EU Member states are now deliberating this draft mandate. In the opinion of the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB), the planned agreement should go beyond a conventional free trade agreement. Equally, procedures and transparency in the negotiations as well as the essential passages should be handled differently from previous EU agreements.
