JETPs are an instrument created by the G7 with the aim of supporting countries in the Global South to decarbonize their energy sector more quickly. To date, JETPs have been launched with South Africa, Indonesia, Vietnam and Senegal. As evident by the name, JETPs promise to organize the transformation of the energy sector in a just way. But is the promise of a just transition delivered? In this side event, we will discuss this and make recommendations to make JETPs more inclusive, socially just and sustainable.
